Time to finish up this small collection. To recap, I bought a small envelope of photos from an eBay seller in Japan. Do they all come from the same source, or are they just a bunch of random snapshots packaged together? Anyway, I didn't see any people showing up in multiple images, so I'm going with random. This is the one thing I keep wondering. How many of these photos were taken before the war, and how many after. Considering how many Japanese citizens died in the war, it's likely that at least some of the pre-war photos show people who were dead within four or five years. And a lot of people in these photos are pretty young. The bottom photo in the column is of schoolgirls. On the Courthouse Steps
Well, I don't actually know that she's on a courthouse steps, but the building has that heavy, institutional feel.

Specs 3
Once again, and for the last time, a visit to our visually limited family. In the first of the three posts, this little girl was seen without her glasses. I grew up in a poorish part of the country, and for a lot of kids, if they needed glasses and their parents couldn't afford them, well too damn bad. Click on The Specs Collection in labels to bring up all three parts.

Mildred Takes A Trip 4
Well, ramblin' Mildred is on the road again. The top photo is pretty obvious. It's the Hollywood Bowl. Over the years, there have been more than a few renovations to the shell, I've been doing some research and I'm thinking that this particular photo is from either 1928 or 29. Then, it's back to Arizona, note the saguaro cactus. And, I'm not sure where, but those steps with maybe Mildred to the right, look familiar to me. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I've stood at that exact spot.
You guessed it, click on Mildred's album.

Torturing the Dog
What' that thing on the dog's head? At first I thought the dog was just moving it's head and all the camera caught was a blur. But after a bit of thought, I realized that the rest of the body would have been moving as well.
