The Indian Occupation

 

I'm not sure about the uniform, but I think it's British.  Throw in people who look like they're Indian, and it's a reasonable bet that this photo was taken during the British occupation of India.  Also known as the British Empire. 

Sideburns

 

Not a good look from the past.  The seventies would be my guess.  There's a very faded lab stamp on the back.  The only thing I can make out is Berlin.  

Get Out of My Hammock!

 

The standing guy has a huge bottle on his shoulder.  I suspect that alcohol has something to do with what's going on. 

The Stare

 

This is another photo from a mystery envelope of prints I found in the box of already posted pictures.  The problem is that I put individual photos in that box, not envelopes of mixed pictures.  So, I 'm not sure if I've put this one up before, and there are just too many images on The New Found Photography to really search them all.  So, this woman has this great stare, and with that bottle in the foreground I have to wonder if she's a bit tipsy.  Written on the back, "March 1952."  And if this has now been posted more than once, so what. 

Books and Mandolins

 

Stop reading and pay attention to me.  If you don't, I'll play Purple haze on my mandolin. 

Proof Sheet

 

Cut out from a proof sheet, a contact print made from an entire roll of film.  120 film by the look of it.  Just going by the age and the people, I'm guessing this photo was taken in Japan, sometime near the end of the American occupation of Japan.  A bit before, a bit after.
