Mystery Geography

 

This is another in the ongoing series (not really) of where the hell is this?  There's an army censor's stamp on the back of the print  "PASSED BY U S ARMY EXAMINER 20222"  My guess is this image is form the World War 2 era and is either a stateside base or something in occupied Europe.

Polaroid Construction

I had three Polaroids in my newly purchased envelope of color photos.  It looks like some restoration work is being done.  At least, that's what the first two images look like.  And the bottom picture in the column?   Those things on the top of the door look decorative, and not part of the original building, so maybe it goes with the other two, maybe not.

Anyway, there are still a lot of photos left in the envelope, but I think I'm going to leave them for awhile.  Some will eventually get posted, and while I won't throw any of them away, there are more than a few that aren't interesting enough for anything other than storage.

Trikes and Walls

I have no idea when this photo was taken, but it makes me think of post war America with it's baby and building booms.  My English born mother (The marriage didn't work out and she was a very bitter woman.) hated the United States.  She was quite critical of a country that she thought didn't take things seriously.  My father lived through the great depression, had been a homeless teen, and while as a cryptographer was held out of combat, had also spent six years in the army.  He thought, after all people had been through, they deserved to have a good life.  Suburban single family homes, new cars, and too many kids, most Americans agreed with my father.

Well I haven't put up a mystery location photo in a very long time.  It's a unique building, so someone out there in web world may know where it was taken.
