Have I done this before? As I've written in other posts, I didn't start posting my photo collection out of any great desire to share with the world. Over the years I had accumulated so many old photographs, they were strewn in drawers, envelopes, and who knows where, so I started this blog just so I could look at my collection without having to clean my apartment to find things. As it turned out, my attempts at getting things organized have, at times, fallen short. I just have this feeling that I've done this before. These two images go with another post titled The Family Piano and should have been posted there, but they got separated somehow so I've had to put them up separately. The thing is, I've got this funny feeling that I made the same mistake before. Anyway, that post wasn't put up that long ago, so it should be easy enough to scroll back and find it. Dated "1958."

Comfort
It looks like this poor guy is all set for a lazy day on the back porch, but his wife, purse in hand, is ready to go. Dated, "OCT 1958"

Music To My Ears 14
I haven't posted much lately, so there's a pretty good gap on this collection, and if anyone wants to catch up, click on Music To My Ears in labels to see what's already been posted. It looks like our singer has aged a bit and may, perhaps, be retired. Written on the back, "5-11-68, Monsignor & Loud Mouth." I'm sure that's a reference to her singing career. And just for the hell of it, I used the color restoration setting.

On the Stage In Blackface
Not too long a go I bought an envelope of random photographs. There were three, square formatted photos of stage plays. If they were all dated in the same year I'd say they were related, but they run from the fifties to the seventies. This one, "JUN 58." With all that's going on now a days it's a bit jarring to find a picture of a woman in blackface spanking a white guy, and I have to wonder who wrote this show. Even in the late fifties, while it wouldn't be scandalous, it would be considered in bad taste.

The Littlest Christmas Tree
Alright, I think it's actually a candle, and it's so small that I missed it the first time I looked at the print, but there it is, right there at the edge of the table, the littlest Christmas tree. There's a processor's date stamp on the back, "JANUARY 1959." So, maybe not Christmas day, but right around December 25, 1958.

At the Mexican Joint
Written on the back, "Feb 1, 58 Coffee & Beer break Mexican joint in desert."
Well, I bought this picture in California, so I'm guessing the Palm Springs area or along Route 66. Of course it could be a lot of other places, but that's my guess.
