Wings

 

He's wearing wings on his uniform, so he must be a member of the Army Air Corps.  But is he headed off to war or getting home, having survived combat missions over Europe?  Clearly from the World War 2 era.

I'd be surprised if this wasn't taken during World War 2.  But where?  Family visiting San Diego before their son or brother went to sea, or a couple of women the sailor met in Hawaii?  When there's one man and two women, the photo is almost always taken by the boyfriend of one of the ladies, so girlfriends are probably the better of two explanations.
