The Classic Look into the Future Pose
This is a favorite pose of politicians, running for office. Slightly below eye line, looking off at a slight angle. Though, I suspect this lady isn't throwing her hat in the ring. I suspect she's looking away from the sun.

Specs 2
More from the family with bad eyesight. Unlike the other photos in this collection, these photos look as if they were taken at a house rather than an apartment building. Click on The Specs Collection in labels to bring up the other posts. One more to come.

She Knows How to Pose
I think the movies taught people how to pose for photographs. This image was taken in a backyard, but she struck a pose that could have been called for in a Hollywood movie studio publicity department.

More Throw-Ins
So, I'm pretty much open to comments. Apart from hate speech, I'll pretty much leave anything up. If you want to tell me my written thoughts are idiotic, say so and I'll leave it up. There is one thing, however, that I'll delete as soon as I see it. Please don't put up an advertisement in the comments section.
So, as I've noted before, I buy a fair number of envelopes of miscellaneous prints. Of course, there are always some prints I really want, but there are also some throw-ins. They're not necessarily bad photos, just ones that I wouldn't buy if they were only available as individual shots, and this is one of them.

Crazy Uncle in the Background
It looks like he's determined to make others pay for not being the center of attention, while the more subdued cousin just sits off by himself, ignoring everyone.

Forgive Me?
Forgive me if I've posted this image before. I didn't start The New Found Photography to share my collection with the world. In a nutshell, I had picked up so many old photos that it had become impossible to look at them and as far as storage, to put it mildly, a mess. Anyway, while this blog made things better, my filing system has been chaotic and with over 2,000 posts, it's hard to scroll back and double check to see if any individual photo has already been published. I don't think this shot of a lady, probably from the twenties, standing in her backyard has been posted before, but if it has, sorry for the repetition.

The Evil Eye
I started this blog for one reason and one reason only. Over the years I had picked up so many of these old photos and it was just impossible to keep track of them all. Anyway, I've been using some pandemic time top get things in some sort of archival storage situation. I found an envelope of prints that I might have posted, then again maybe I didn't. So, after spending the last twenty minutes scrolling through things, trying to figure out what the hell I did or didn't do, I gave up. They're all in the rotation and if I'm repeating myself, so be it. She does have that you are in big trouble look.

Little Miss Petulant
So, I bought a new printer/scanner. It took awhile to get it installed and to print. Next step, getting it to scan. This was the top photo on my stack of old photos, which is why I used it. After a few attempts, I got it into my" image garden" whatever the hell that is. To bad, I can't figure how to get from there to the blog. She's petulant, I'm baffled, and it's back to the old scanner.

Copyright, Helen Bruce
This one has a very weird detail. The first and third photos in the column have what looks like a homemade copyright on the border. Why does someone feel the need to declare a copyright on family snapshots?
Written on the back of the top photo, "Mother, Dorthy, & David July 1956." The second, "David July 1956." The bottom, "Cal, Carol & David July 1956."
Note the small Kodak camera in the third photo.

Throw-In, In Color
Dated "SEP 69" Back in the good old days when I still had a full time job, I'd think about leaving L.A. for some small town in the Pacific northwest. I thought it would be nice to have a backyard. The big problem was that on my L.A. salary buying a house in rural America wouldn't have been a problem. But what I could make outside of Los Angeles was so small I'd have the limited space of the city but none of the advantages of urban life.

In the Backyard
Another one of the throw-ins. Going by the clothes and the car that can be seen in the right background, I'm guessing mid to late 1930's.

The Here, There, and Everywhere Collection-Suburban Life
So, I bought an envelope full of photos that the dealer told me came from an estate sale, and are all related. As I've noted from the first post, I have my doubts. For more details, click on the Here There and Everywhere Collection in labels for more details, and to see other parts of the collection.
Say suburbia, and most people think of the fifties and the post war housing boom. I don't have a date on this album page, but forties or fifties is a definite possibility. Note the Popular Science magazine in the rack next to the couch in the first photo. The magazine wasn't aimed at scientists, but it's readership was mostly people with a bit better education than the general public.
