Two Guys From Out in the Middle of a Field Somewhere

No, they're not selling pizza or whatever the two guys from Italy sell.  My best guess is that this picture was taken before World War 1, but after the turn of the century.  From the days when men wore suits for almost everything.

Friends on the Couch

It's getting harder and harder to come up with a good title for these posts.  My guess is that this photo is from the 1950s.

Random Japanese Snapshots 6

I'm still having problems with the scanner, so when it started working again, I figured I should get something posted while I still could.  So, a photo plus what's written on the back from an envelope of photos I purchased from an eBay seller in Japan.  And once again, if anyone out there can translate what's written on the back of the print, please leave it as a comment.  Click on random Japanese snapshots collection in labels to see what's already been published.

Random Japanese Snapshots 3

I recently purchased an envelope full of snapshots from an eBay seller in Japan.  They may be random, or they may all be from the same family.  I just don't know.  Anyway, I'm still figuring out how I'm going to post them and in what order.  The only thing I'm sure of is that those photos with writing on the back will be placed in a single posting.  I don't speak Japanese, and I can't really use Google Translate, so if someone out there speaks and reads Japanese, a translation would be welcome.  Just knowing that I've got it right side up would also be helpful.  Click on Random Japanese snapshots collection in labels to see what's been published.  More to come.

Trouble Makers

Are they throwing water balloons?  I think they are.

The Here, There, and Everywhere Collection-Mystery Location

When I pulled this one out of the envelope, I was sure I had seen this place in real, as opposed to photographic life.  I've been thinking about this one for awhile, and I'm leaning towards a dam somewhere in southern Arizona.  I have memories of driving through the mountains, going around a curve and being on top of a dam, maybe on the Salt River, maybe somewhere else.  I mean, I can't imagine these four gentlemen, and the fifth, the photographer, saying to themselves, "Hey, what an ordinary wall next to a road, let's all stop the car and take a picture!"  At least that's my impression.

There's not that much more to go, but I think I'm going to leave the last of The Here, There, and Everywhere Collection (Remember to click in labels to see more.) for another time.

The Here, There, and Everywhere Collection-The Faceless Family Connection

There are only so many photos in this collection that have any sort of caption, and this is one of them.  Written on the back, "my cousin."

Click on The Here There and Everywhere Collection at the bottom of the post to see the rest.

Mr. Schulmeir

Kind of like the baby pose from the last post.  Labeled, obviously, "Mr. Schulmeir."  He must have been an important person in a minor way.  He's a Mister not a Bob, Barry, or Wolfgang.  Notice that the person in the foreground seems to be laughing at what is very likely a lame joke.
