The Post War European Trip Collection-Souvenir Snapshots 7

Top and bottom, still in Paris.  The rest seem to be some sort of country estate.  Some sort of royal palace?  Click on The Post war European Trip Collection in labels for more good stuff.

The Post War European Trip Collection-Souvenir Snapshots 4

Gloria Lee got around.  I'm fairly certain the top photo is from Paris, but clearly some of these are from other locations.

The Post War European Trip Collection-Berne 3

I'm burning through Bern.  This section presented a bit of a problem as far as scanning goes.  I'd much rather have done each panel individually, but the publisher's choice to put a fold through the middle of the photos took that option off the table.  I don't know about anyone else, but I'd love to see the statue of the baby eating ogre.  I wonder what that says about the Swiss mindset.

As usual click on The Post War European Trip Collection in labels, etc.

Two Women on Vacation 3

We had some Bulgarian in the last post.  The first photo in this post has what I think of as dictator art.  We have the worker, possible peasant, and a one legged fellow all capped by a star.  A communist star?  No doubt imagery found throughout eastern block countries during the cold war era.  I wonder, if this was a vacation trip, did these two ladies limit themselves to one country, or did they travel from East Germany to Yugoslavia?

Two Women on Vacation 1

Well, I think they're on vacation.  I bought an envelope of thirty plus photos of these two women wandering around somewhere in Europe.  But where?  Clues are on their way in the next three posts.

Views of the World, Castle On The Rhine, Germany

It's time to return to The Views of the World Collection which can be accessed by clicking on, yes you've guessed  it, Views of the World in the labels section at the bottom of the post.

I thought it would be easy to identify this particular castle, and was surprised that there were several candidates.  My best guess, Rheinstein Castle, built in 1317 and currently owned by the Hecher family.
