Looks like Schreick's del'd the Pics to their old place @1612 Kenmore Rd on 9/10/32 according to the pencil writing on back. His folks (Edwin & Sylvia Easterday) later moved to S. High St. just south of the Great Southern Shopping Center where they had a Black Angus Cattle farm. They sold most of the property to the State so that 270 could be built. Some of the little cardboard pic frames show Schreik's location being 'High & Long Sts'. Do you remember the Easterday family? I love the history of it all. Thank you!!!
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10849505335332241306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3375282411010826952.post-32836601351851616612012-12-27T03:21:49.971-08:002012-12-27T03:21:49.971-08:00Hello, MJY, sorry for the delay of my answer but I...Hello, MJY, sorry for the delay of my answer but I am not too experienced with all this stuff and too often it is by pure accident that I find the right way. Wow, I am not interested in any pics from or by any person but only in jazz pics showing black bands. In this case in black Ohio resp. Columbus based bands or musicians. I have already a few ones but am still looking for more to complete my research. Please let me know your e-mail address so I can send what I have. Here is mine: bhbehncke@eibe-computer.de - Thanks, WJY for your kind help, have a nice day and Good Luck for 2013 yours Bernhard
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3375282411010826952.post-23893397389574462262012-07-27T18:48:40.548-07:002012-07-27T18:48:40.548-07:00I've just gone through the 78 collection and c...I've just gone through the 78 collection and couldn't find anything by Sammy Stewart. I'm not aware of any Schreick archives. I'd check with the Columbus, Ohio public library, local historical societies, and because the studio did so many photos of state legislators, the Ohio state archives. If you haven't done so already, I hope you'll put your collection on line. Blogger has it's issues, but it is free. I know I'd really like to see any photos of jazz bands from the Weimar era. Too, if you're interested, on Feb. 1, 2010, I posted a photo of Ray Bauduc, a drummer with Bob Crosby and the Bobcats. Also, the Topsy's Cafe postcard posted on Sept., 14, 2009 might also be of interest. Click on nightclubs in the labels section with the Topsy's post, and that will bring up some souvenir photo folders. Let me know if you find anything on the Schreicks or if I can go on line and see your collection.WJYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14722970911455513434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3375282411010826952.post-43470633356145548582012-07-27T02:18:41.459-07:002012-07-27T02:18:41.459-07:00Hello, I'm a jazzcollector of Hamburg/Germany ...Hello, I'm a jazzcollector of Hamburg/Germany and am interested in the Schreick's family, as I have a pic taken ca. late Twenties. This picture shows a black jazzband (Sammy Stewart's band) and shows, as usual, the name SCHREICK in the right corner. Thus I want to know wether there are any information on the studio's archive, if it still exists and if so what can still be found. Many thanks for your kind help. The number on the back of the picture is 14464. Is there any chance of there being more photos kept in storage somewhere that survived that fire?

email: chrisessman@sbcglobal.netAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3375282411010826952.post-46351615361649412042011-12-09T14:53:33.913-08:002011-12-09T14:53:33.913-08:00Frank X.
